We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team based out of our Gaston, SC facility. The ideal candidate for the Cost Accountant will be responsible for providing overall financial leadership to manage all aspects of financial administration at the plant as well as improvement of systems and processes using effective internal controls.
Responsibilities
The Cost Accountant will be reportable to the Site Director and have responsibilities for the following tasks:
- Manage and perform all cost accounting activities at the plant including in-depth forecast and variance analysis and monitoring of performance metrics
- Lead and manage plant month-end and year-end financial closing processes, including inventory adjustments, transfers and consumptions, financial analysis and timely reporting.
- Maintain adequate system of internal control to safeguard plant assets and to ensure the integrity of financial information and compliance to regulations and corporate policies.
- Direct and manage the process of generating annual budgets as part of the Strategic Planning Process, monitor variances, track trends and detractors and communicate to management.
- Assist with coordinating internal and external audits. Lead site managers in the development of Action Plans to resolve audit findings.
- Responsible for hands-on inventory management support including reconciliation of physical inventory.
- Support the capital expenditure planning and tracking process and assist the site engineers in their CAPEX efforts.
- Serve as a liaison between the plant and corporate finance teams.
- Assist the Plant Manager in driving process improvement and cost saving initiatives.
- Perform audits of Resident Contractor billings.
- Perform ad hoc analysis and participate in special projects/teams as requested

- BS or MS Degree in Finance or Accounting.
- 3-5 years of cost accountant experience or similar role.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams
- Self-motivated, organized and able to manage multiple projects at the same time.
- Results oriented - ability to translate key area and business needs into the right priorities and actions.
