This role provides day-to-day support for HR operations at the Reading, PA facility, assisting with key functions such as onboarding, employee recordkeeping, HR compliance, timekeeping coordination, and employee engagement initiatives.

The position works closely with the HR Business Partner and site leadership to ensure consistent HR processes and timely support for both employees and supervisors. It plays a vital role in maintaining a compliant, engaging, and service-oriented work environment.

Responsibilities

The Human Resources Specialist will be reportable to the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) and have responsibilities for the following tasks:
  • Develop and maintain talent management processes
  • Collaborate with all business unit leaders to develop effective recruitment strategies and identify future staffing needs
  • Provide onsite HR Rep coverage for two business units
  • Administer new employee on-boarding and orientation
  • Partner with HRBP and Payroll COE to support timecard validation and corrections.
  • Reconcile temporary staffing timecards and assist in tracking agency hours and invoices.
  • Manage the EKP system and ensure training compliance 
  • Conduct and process terminations and perform necessary functions for exit interviews
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to Human Resources
  • Compile and update employee records; maintain employee personnel records; document control functions including timely filing of employee training documents
  • Provide training documents to internal and external auditors for employee training records
  • Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities
  • Monitor employee morale and corporate culture
  • Respond to and resolve employee inquiries related to HR policies, procedures, and workplace regulations.
  • Properly handle complaints and grievance procedures and assist in investigations
  • Enter and maintain HR-related data in SAP (e.g., PRs, orders).
  • Perform other related duties as required

Skills & Qualifications

Required
  • 2 to 5 years of relevant human resources experience
  • Associate’s degree in Human Resources, business administration, or related field required; bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
  • Understanding of state and federal employment regulations
  • Awareness of OSHA regulations and compliance
  • Understanding of personnel and compliance records management
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise mature judgement
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities
  • Ability to quickly learn systems and software used by the organization
  • Ability to work at a computer 8 hours per day
Preferred
  • Human Resources Certification – PHR, SHRM-CP
  • ADP Workforce Now, E-Time Software, and SAP applications (Concur and SuccessFactors)
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial work environment
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
