We are seeking a motivated leader to join our RD - Reading site's Maintenance team based in Reading, PA. The ideal candidate for the Maintenance Manager uses their strong leadership and communication skills to oversee all maintenance related activities prioritizing safety, plant uptime and maintenance cost objectives.

Responsibilities

The Maintenance Manager will be reportable to the Site Director and have responsibilities for the following tasks:

  • Provide overall leadership to the plant multi-functional maintenance and engineering department to achieve plant and business objectives. 
  • Set direction and establish priorities to effectively provide safe and reliable operation of plant equipment and facilities using established systems and procedures. 
  • Identify and implement effective maintenance strategies, tools, and best practices. 
  • Utilize Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to manage maintenance performance on safety, quality, equipment maintenance and reliability, cost, etc. 
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and programs. 
  • Professionally manage direct reports, perform evaluations with feedback and manage career development.  
  • Develop annual budget and manage department cost. 
  • Manage turnarounds, shutdowns and capital improvement projects.   
 

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering , Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology  or Industrial Engineering.  
  • At least seven (7) years of experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment with a minimum of three (3) years a leadership role 
    • Direct people leadership within the last five (5) years required
    • Experience with team development preferred
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills  
  • Good written and verbal communication skills 
  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment 
    • Operates with a non-siloed approach to communication, reaching across functions within the plant and company
    • Communicates effectively across teams and channels
  • Self-motivated, organized and able to manage multiple projects at the same time 
  • Results oriented & Business Acumen
    • Ability to translate key area and business needs into the right priorities and actions 
    • Understanding of the "big picture" and fully scope impact of maintenance on the organization
    • Maintenance related KPIs- knowledge and understanding of the purpose KPIs serve in the maintenance organization, for the site and the company
    • Ability to translate KPI to success (ex reliability KPIs and cascading them to the workforce) 
    • Experience with defining KPIs preferred
